About Heads Up

Heads Up is a free text-message alert service. It tells you when a specific person is no longer at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility.

Every 5 minutes, Heads Up checks the public jail roster posted by Yellowstone County. When someone you have signed up to watch is no longer on that list, you get a text.

It can't tell you why someone left the jail. They may have been released, transferred, taken to court, or moved to another facility. The text will say that honestly.

It only covers the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. Other county jails, state prisons, and federal facilities are not covered.

The service is free. Standard text-message rates from your phone carrier apply.

Heads Up is offered as a public-safety resource. It is not operated by the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office or any law enforcement agency.
